Geraldo Valentim Neto is the founder and co-ordinator of the tax area of the Registry, with more than 15 years of experience as a tax assessor for Brazilian companies and non-adversarial and consultative multinational companies, notably in relation to the aspects and impacts of the taxpayers at corporate level ( setores industrial, commercial, serviços, tecnologia, infraestrutura, comércio exterior and aeronautical) em operações domestic and internacionais.
Representou or Brazil as a representative of the 68th Congress of IFA (International Fiscal Association) held in Mumbai (India) in 2014 to deal with two recent aspects of international taxation (“Recent developments in international taxation”).
Foi Conselheiro Head of Second Câmara da Primeira Seção do CARF (Administrative Council of Fiscal Resources) of the Ministry of Finance, in Brasília (2011-2015).
Possui experience in consultancy and litigation related to direct taxes (especially IRPJ / CSLL, PIS / COFINS, CIDE), indirect (especially ICMS, IPI, ISS), taxation aduaneira (foreign trade) and lawsuits / negociações perante as authorities em materérias of Direito Tributário.
Atuou na tributária area aduaneira do escritório Pinheiro Neto Advogados, participant of the program in Solução de Controvérsias da Organização Mundial do Comércio (OMC) and coordenou o Legal Department Tributário da CSN – Companhia Siderúrgica Nacional.
